  5. St Germain - Sure Thing

A complete masterpiece by French Acid jazz/Chill out/ House producer St Germain.

This song perfectly mixes blues style guitar and vocals with some gorgeous down-tempo house drum patterns. The bass pans between left and right giving it an almighty hypnosis feeling to it. One of the most flawless pieces of production ever made, no sound or effect is too loud, everything is EQ’d amazingly and given its place both in the dynamics and the frequencies of the song.

St Germain aka Ludovic Navarre first came to the electronic/jazz scene in 1995 with his debut album ‘Boulevard’. This track is taken from the 2000 album ‘Tourist’ which is his most successful and well known album.

  6. Boards Of Canada - Satellite Anthem Icarus

One of many brilliant ambient/trip-hop track by the Scottish electronic duo who have been soaring through the ambient world since 1995.

This track which is taken from the highly acclaimed album ‘The Campfire Headphase’ is a brilliantly constructed atmoshperic track, that gives you the uplifting feeling that Boards of Canada always provide, but with the edgy side of ambient artists like Aphex Twin.

  9. FK - Shades Of Nostalgia

A rare Trip-hop gem that I found on the B-side to Nujabes DTFN single. This track by japanese producer FK or Fela Kuti is a nice chilled beat with a smooth baseline and reverb soaked vocal cuts a perfect late night track.

Although this artist has released fairly little, this is a track that definetly cannot go un-noticed. If you like your Nujabes then you will certainly like this, Nujabes liked it enough to put it on his single.

  10. Jesu - Silver

A industrial masterpiece by experimental metal god Justin Broderick.

Justin who was famed for his band God Flesh became more involved in the electronic and ambient side of music, this project called ‘Jesu’ are very different twist from his usually extremely heavy sound, Jesu’s songs tend to be slow and sludgy with nicer warming melodic parts.
